Eif4e, 1-217aa, Mouse, His-tag, E.coli

Categories: [Proteins / Peptides]
Eif4e, also known as Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E, modulates translation of maternal mRNAs in early embryos before the onset of zygotic transcription. This protein recognizes and binds to the 7 methyl GTP cap structure of eukaryotic mRNAs, thereby mediating the initiation of translation. It facilitates ribosome binding by inducing the unwinding of the mRNAs secondary structures. Recombinant mouse Eif4e protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.
