C-reactive protein, 20-230aa, Rat, His tag, Insect cell

Categories: [Proteins / Peptides]
CRP, also known as c-reactive protein, displays several functions associated with host defense. It promotes agglutination, bacterial capsular swelling, phagocytosis and complement fixation through its calcium-dependent binding to phosphorylcholine and can interact with DNA and histones and may scavenge nuclear material released from damaged circulating cells. Recombinant rat CRP, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
