Non-pou domain-containing octamer-binding protein(NONO),other named p54nrb,belongs to DBHS family,whose protein are predominately nuclear and involves in transcriptional and posttranscriptional gene regulatory functions as well as DNA repair. This family has roles in a wide range of biological processes,such as the regulation of circadian rhythm,carcinogenesis and progression of cancer. NONO forms heterodimer with SFPQ,and has been implicated in nuclear retention of A- to I-edited RNA as paraspeckle components,pre-mRAN 3'-end formation,cAMP cycling and transcriptional activation.
